This past Father's Day, I took a moment to reflect on the incredible impact my dad has had on my life. He taught me so much – responsibility, perseverance, the value of hard work – all the classics! But what truly resonated was realizing the sacrifices he made for our family. Becoming a dad myself helped me see his choices through a whole new lens, and my respect and love for him grew even stronger.
My own path to fatherhood may be different from my dad's as I was given the opportunities to do more things that made me happy, but the core values remain the same. We both strive to be the best dads we can be, with the resources and opportunities available to us. That dedication to our families is something to celebrate, no matter the details.
For me it’s, more time with my kids, embarrassing them as best as I can, and doing my best to make every moment spent together fun and funny.
Take a moment this week to reach out to the father figures in your life. It could be your dad, a grandfather, uncle, or even a close friend who's stepped up like a dad. Let them know how much their influence means to you. A quick phone call, a heartfelt message, or even just a "thanks for everything" can make a big difference. Dad’s and Father’s day is such an underrated role and day. Take this as your sign to call the dad figure in your life today to tell them you appreciate them!
